Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a biomedical equipment service engineer to evaluate, diagnose, repair, and perform PM on complex medical devices. You will drive service excellence and lead others on GE-related policies and hospital protocols.

You will communicate proactively with customers, maintain thorough documentation, mentor technicians, and work with the local team to deliver efficient service across accounts. A strong focus on customer relations and safety is essential.

Qualifications

  • Requires Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 4+ years in servicing medical equipment, or equivalent military education and 4+ years, or HS diploma with 6+ years experience.
  • Electronic documentation proficiency (Ipad, iPhone) and familiarity with MS Office.
  • Experience building and maintaining good customer relations at all levels.
  • Experience interfacing with internal and external customers in a solution-based service process.
  • Strong communication skills to explain technical issues clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to implement solutions.
  • Must comply with GEHC background check and immunization policies.

Responsibilities

  • Implement GE/customer facility contracts and support business goals.
  • Lead, instruct, and assist technicians on repairs/resolution.
  • Work with local team to provide efficient service across accounts within the area.
  • Proactively reach out to team members to share best practices and mentor others.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Responds to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, and perform repair and planned maintenance (PM) on complex customer’s biomedical equipment.
  • Drives customer satisfaction through Service Excellence.
  • Evaluate complex customer biomedical equipment issues, implement appropriate repairs, perform PM and safety/environmental inspections, and maintain effective customer relations.
  • Lead others as needed regarding appropriate GE policies, procedures, hospital protocol, and complete necessary documentation.
  • Establish and engage in proactive daily communications with customers, to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to strong customer relations and customer satisfaction.
  • Effectively communicate and partner with teammates and colleagues.
  • Implement GE/customer facility contract and support customer and business goals/objectives.
  • Lead, instruct, and assist technicians on basic and complex repairs/resolution.
  • Work as a member of local team to provide efficient service delivery to all accounts within the assigned area (includes delegating tasks and performing administrative duties).
  • Proactively reach out to others on team (e.g., provide help, share best practices, mentor others).
Requirements
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of experience servicing medical equipment; OR equivalent military education and 4+ years of experience servicing medical equipment; OR High School Diploma/GED and 6+ years of experience servicing medical equipment.
  • Proficiency in completing electronic documentation using technological tools (e.g., Ipad, Iphone) and familiar with technological programs (e.g., Microsoft Office).
  • Experience developing and maintaining good customer relations at all levels (e.g., nurses, doctors, leadership).
  • Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solution based service process.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to the customer in an easy to understand manner.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team to implement solutions through problem solving.
  • Must comply with GEHC's standard background check, including a post-offer drug test.
  • Must comply with all customer access policies, including but not limited to obtaining and/or providing proof of required immunizations, and additional drug tests or background checks.
