Job summary

GE Healthcare is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Service Engineer to respond to service calls, diagnose and repair basic biomedical equipment across assigned accounts. The role includes performing planned maintenance, documenting actions, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will drive customer satisfaction through service excellence, communicate with teammates and customers, and adhere to hospital protocols.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical, Biomedical, or Mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly to customers.
  • Willingness to be on-call, including weekends, for critical issues.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Responds to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, and perform repair and planned maintenance (PM) on customers' basic biomedical equipment.
  • Drives customer satisfaction through service excellence.
  • Effectively communicate and partner with teammates and colleagues.
  • Follow appropriate GE policies, procedures, hospital protocol, and completes necessary documentation.
  • Maintain daily communications with customers as directed, to ensure resolution and proper follow up, leading to strong customer relations and ongoing customer satisfaction.
  • Work as a member of local team to provide efficient service delivery to all accounts within the assigned area.
  • Document all repair actions and submit reports/summaries according to schedule.
  • Enhance and maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures regarding safe and effective use of medical equipment through formal instruction.
Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; OR equivalent military education; OR participant in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship, Apprenticeship or Military Externship program; OR High School Diploma/GED and a minimum 2 years of experience servicing electrical, electronics, IT or mechanical equipment.
  • Analytical and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to the customer in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Willingness to be available "after hours", or work a rotating On-Call schedule, including weekends, for critical issues and coverage, as necessary.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to maintain license.
  • The successful applicant must comply with GEHC's standard background check, including a post-offer drug test.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
