Job summary

GE Healthcare (GEHC) is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Repair Technician to evaluate, diagnose, repair, and perform planned maintenance on customers' biomedical devices. The role emphasizes strong communication to convey technical issues clearly and driving service excellence in customer interactions.

Under supervision, you will perform equipment safety inspections, document repair actions, and maintain calibration standards.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in engineering or military program; or 2+ years servicing electrical/electronic/mechanical equipment.
  • Analytical and communication skills to explain technical issues clearly to customers.
  • Must pass GEHC background check, including post-offer drug test.
  • Willingness to be available after hours or rotate on-call, including weekends, as needed.

Job description

  • Responds to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, and perform repair and planned maintenance (PM) on customers' basic biomedical equipment.
  • Drives customer satisfaction through service excellence.
  • Under supervision, evaluate basic customer biomedical equipment issues, implement appropriate repairs, and perform PM and safety/environmental inspections as assigned.
  • Maintain daily communications with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to strong customer relations and ongoing customer satisfaction.
  • Document all repair actions and submit reports/summaries according to schedule.
  • Ensure proper care of spares, tools, and test equipment, and ensure calibration.
Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; OR equivalent military education; OR participant in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship program; OR High School Diploma/GED and 2+ years of experience servicing electrical, electronics, IT or mechanical equipment.
  • Analytical and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to the customer in an easy to understand manner.
  • Must comply with GEHC's standard background check, including a post-offer drug test.
  • Willingness to be available "after hours", or work a rotating On-Call schedule, including weekends, for critical issues and coverage, as necessary.
