Are you passionate about technical biomed? Leidos is seeking a certified Biomedical Repair Technician at the Naval Medical Research Unit San Antonio (NAMRU-SA) in San Antonio, TX. NAMRU-SA is a leading research and development laboratory for the U.S. Navy, focusing on combat casualty care, craniofacial, and directed energy research to improve survival, operational readiness, and safety of DoD personnel. Work is to be performed onsite, 0700 to 1530.

The Challenge
  • Provide assistance in setting up, maintaining, and calibrating research equipment, and making minor adjustments to research apparatus.
  • Ensure environmental conditions are strictly regulated and match experimental plans in collaboration with researchers/Principal Investigators.
  • Support biomedical engineering/repair functions related to medical research practices.
  • Support system integration, fabrication, and testing after installation to meet specifications.
  • Maintain research equipment records, perform preventive maintenance, and conduct repairs and inventory.
What Sets You Apart
  • Completion of DoD Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) program or an associate’s degree in biomedical electronics; certified CBET or CLES.
  • Ability to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate environmental compliance devices.
  • Minimum one year experience in repair and maintenance of research-related equipment.
  • Ability to obtain SECRET clearance; US citizenship required.
  • Willingness to work in San Antonio, TX, and obtain certifications such as BLS or CPR.
You Might Also Have
  • Experience in military medical research laboratories (preferred).
