Are you passionate about technical biomed? Leidos is seeking a certified Biomedical Repair Technician at the Naval Medical Research Unit San Antonio (NAMRU-SA) in San Antonio, TX. NAMRU-SA is a leading research and development laboratory for the U.S. Navy, conducting research to improve survival, operational readiness, and safety of DoD personnel. Work is to be performed onsite, 0700 to 1530.

The Challenge:

  1. Assist in setting up, maintaining, and calibrating research equipment, making minor adjustments as needed.
  2. Collaborate with researchers to ensure environmental conditions match experimental plans.
  3. Support biomedical engineering and repair functions for research labs.
  4. Assist in system integration, fabrication, and testing post-installation.
  5. Maintain equipment records, perform preventive maintenance, and handle repairs and procurement.

What Sets You Apart:

  1. Completion of the DoD Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) program or an associate’s degree in biomedical electronics; certification as CBET or CLES.
  2. Ability to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate environmental devices using schematic diagrams and vendor info.
  3. At least one year of repair and maintenance experience related to research equipment.
  4. Ability to obtain SECRET clearance; current clearance preferred.
  5. U.S. citizenship is required due to federal contract requirements.
  6. Ability to obtain certification in BLS, CPR, or equivalent; web-based classes are not accepted.
  7. Willingness to work in San Antonio, TX.

  • Experience in military medical research laboratories (preferred).
