Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to perform corrective and preventive maintenance on patient care devices such as lifts, beds, stretchers, chairs, and monitors. The role supports Clinical and Radiological Engineers on risk category devices and requires strong communication with nursing staff.

The ideal candidate has 4 years of related experience, a High School diploma or GED, and an Electronics-focused associate level training or military/vocational equivalent.

Qualifications

• High School / GED required; associates preferred.
• Associates degree or military/vocational training in Electronics preferred.
• Successfully pass GBMC provided vendor training course and certification exams.
• 4 years job related experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on patient care devices (lifts, beds, stretchers, wheel chairs, recliners, centrifuge rpm’s, monitors).
• Assist Clinical and Radiological Engineers on support for risk category I–IV devices.
• Complete PMs within designated timelines and update documentation.
• Inspect and assemble new medical devices for patient use.
• Repair equipment with minimum supervision and communicate timelines to supervisor.
