Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to perform corrective and preventive maintenance on patient care devices, including beds, lifts, and monitoring equipment. You will support clinical engineers on high-risk devices and ensure timely repairs while maintaining equipment safety and documentation.

Responsibilities include PM completion, device inspection, and collaboration with nursing staff.

Qualifications

  • High school completion or GED is required.
  • An associate degree or military/vocational training in electronics is preferred.
  • Experience with biomedical equipment service and safety practices is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on patient care devices as assigned.
  • Assist Clinical and Radiological Engineers on support for risk category I–IV devices.
  • Complete PMs within designated timeframes and document results.
  • Inspect, assemble, repair, and test new and used medical devices for patient use.
  • Inform supervisors of unsafe equipment and coordinate timely repairs.
  • Provide in-service equipment training and support to nursing staff.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and assist with pre-purchase evaluations.
