Job summary

Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) seeks a skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician to perform corrective and preventive maintenance on patient care devices, including beds, lifts, and monitors. The role also supports risk-classified devices and collaborates with Clinical and Radiological Engineers.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, 4 years of related experience, and passing GBMC vendor training with certification exams.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Associates degree or military/vocational electronics training preferred.
• Successfully pass GBMC vendor training course and certification exams.
• 4 years job related experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on patient care devices as assigned.
• Assist Clinical and Radiological Engineers on support for risk category I–IV devices.
• Perform PMs on assigned equipment within designated timeframes and document completion.
• Inspect and assemble new medical devices for patient use.
• Repair equipment with minimal supervision and communicate any delays.
• Inform supervisor of unsafe equipment and coordinate remediation.
• Provide nursing staff with additional equipment in services and support.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and process repair parts orders.
