Job summary

SGMC Health is seeking a Biomedical Technician to ensure safe and effective operation of diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment. You will perform planned maintenance, calibration, repairs, and installations while collaborating with clinicians and operations staff.

The role supports high patient care standards and reports to the Director of Biomedical Services. Preferred candidates hold an Associate's degree in medical electronics or related field and 1–2 years of equipment maintenance

Qualifications

Associate degree or equivalent military experience in medical electronics or related field.
1–2 years of experience in medical equipment maintenance.
CBET certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure biomedical devices meet regulatory requirements and quality standards.
Diagnose and repair equipment issues using relevant scientific knowledge.
Participate in on-call service to address urgent equipment needs.
Maintain accurate records of equipment repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
Communicate effectively with clinical staff to resolve operational problems.
Perform planned maintenance on various medical equipment according to guidelines.
Work in a team to monitor, resolve, and escalate equipment issues.
Provide status reports, gather department requirements, and input on equipment purchases/services.
Process service requests from scheduling to completion.
Conduct inventory inspections and request necessary parts and supplies.
