Job summary

Intelas is recruiting for a BMET I to support maintenance and safety inspections of patient care equipment across multiple healthcare sites. The role includes managing equipment service, pre-acceptance inspections, part orders, and on-call duties to ensure continuous clinical operations.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of hospital equipment service experience, an associate degree in electronics/biomedical tech, and strong communication skills to collaborate with clinical staff and supervisors.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in electronics/biomedical equipment technology or equivalent.
• 1–3 years servicing clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital environment.
• Valid driver’s license for field service travel.
• Ability to work independently with some supervision.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Good organization and time management skills.
• Working knowledge of tracking service histories and generating asset reports.
• On-call duty availability as required.

Responsibilities

• Performs planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections on patient care and support equipment.
• Manages all assigned equipment and schedules service.
• Performs pre-acceptance inspections and develops PM procedures.
• Ensures test equipment is calibrated and functioning properly.
• Responds to clinical department calls to evaluate and rectify issues.
• Researches and orders repair parts within budget parameters.
• Maintains purchase order log and processes invoices.
• Provides informal training to equipment users and staff.
• Collaborates with department on service strategies and communicates needs to supervision.
• Participates in Quality Improvement / Risk Management and safety initiatives.
• Maintains orderly work environment.
• Provides emergency on-call responsibilities as needed.
• Documents asset actions per department practices.
• Participates in department meetings and shares technical updates.
• Works with teammates to ensure reliable device performance.
