Job summary

Intelas, a Compass Healthcare company, seeks a BMET II to perform maintenance and inspections on patient care devices across sites. You will manage equipment, schedule service, and contribute to PM procedures while maintaining records and ensuring equipment uptime.

Ideal candidates have an electronics/biomed degree and 3 years hospital field service experience, with strong communication and problem-solving skills. On-site roles include on-call duties and training of staff.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in electronics/biomedical equipment technology, military training or equivalent experience.
• 3 years servicing clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections on patient care equipment in accordance with standards.
• Manages all assigned equipment and schedules service.
• Performs pre-acceptance inspections and develops PM procedures; maintains files.
• Ensures test equipment is calibrated and functioning properly.
• Responds quickly to clinical calls to evaluate and resolve issues.
• Researches and orders repair parts within budget parameters.
• Maintains purchase order logs and validates invoices for payment.
• Provides informal training to equipment users and staff as needed.
• Advises supervisor on service strategies and keeps management informed.
• Participates in Quality Improvement / Risk Management and suggests improvements.
• Maintains an orderly work environment.
• Provides emergency on-call responsibilities as needed.
• Documents asset actions in line with department practices.
• Participates in department meetings and collaborates on updates.
