Job summary

Intelas, a Compass Healthcare company, seeks a BMET I to perform planned maintenance and safety inspections on patient care equipment. You will manage gear, schedule service, and support inventory through PM procedures.

You’ll respond to clinical calls, calibrate test equipment, and assist with parts orders while collaborating with the department to improve service strategies and ensure uptime.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent experience in electronics/biomedical equipment technology or military training.
• 1–3 years servicing clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital environment.
• For field service roles requiring travel, a valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability to work independently with some supervision and strong customer service skills.
• Good organization and time management; troubleshooting skills; willingness to be on-call.

Responsibilities

• Performs planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections on a broad range of patient care and select equipment.
• Manages assigned equipment and schedules service; prepares PM procedures and maintains manuals.
• Ensures test equipment is calibrated and functioning properly.
• Responds promptly to clinical calls to evaluate and rectify issues.
• Researches and initiates orders for repair parts within budget parameters.
• Maintains purchase order logs and assists with invoice validation (field staff).
• Provides informal training to equipment users and staff as needed.
• Collaborates with department staff to improve service strategies and shares updates.
