Job summary

The Biomedical Equipment Technician I at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare performs operational and safety testing, maintenance and repairs on general patient care equipment. Routine preventative maintenance is conducted on Infusion/PCA/Syringe/Ambulatory Pumps, Monitors, incubators, treadmills and more to ensure patient safety.

You will document activities, order parts, and troubleshoot equipment with minimal supervision, supporting MLH's mission to care for the community with excellence.

Qualifications

• Required - Associate's Degree Biomedical Engineering
• Preferred - Associates Degree Computer Engineering
• Preferred - Associates Degree Electrical Engineering
• Preferred - High School Diploma or Equivalent

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance and electrical safety inspections of clinical equipment, devices, and systems.
• Maintains documentation and inspects/tests all newly purchased, evaluation, demo, leased or rented medical equipment.
• Determines cause of problems or malfunctions of minor medical equipment.
• Orders supplies and parts for preventative maintenance activities and services.
• Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities for self development and enhancement of professional competency.
• Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.
