Job summary

Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in Memphis, TN seeks a Biomedical Equipment Technician I to maintain and repair general patient care equipment, ensuring safety and reliability across the facility.

You will perform preventative maintenance on pumps, monitors, incubators, treadmills and other equipment, maintain extensive documentation, and identify opportunities for professional growth while supporting MLH's mission and patient care standards.

Qualifications

• Required - Associates Degree Biomedical Engineering
• Preferred - Associates Degree Computer Engineering
• Preferred - Associates Degree Electrical Engineering
• Preferred - High School Diploma or Equivalent

Responsibilities

• Performs operational and safety testing, maintenance and repairs on general patient care equipment.
• Performs routine preventative maintenance on general patient care equipment (Infusion/PCA/Syringe/ ambulatory pumps, monitors, incubators, treadmills, defibrillators, warming units, and related equipment).
• Maintains documentation and inspects/tests all newly purchased, evaluation, demo, leased or rented medical equipment.
• Determines cause of problems or malfunctions of minor medical equipment.
• Orders supplies and parts for preventative maintenance activities and services.
• Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities for self-development and enhancement of professional competency.
