Job summary

Aretum is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician – Info/Sys to join our healthcare facility team in Fort Meade, MD. The role focuses on networked medical equipment reliability, cybersecurity collaboration, and patient safety through proper device operation and maintenance.

Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections, software updates, and training medical staff, with travel to client locations as project needs dictate. Experience with Cerner EHR is preferred.

Qualifications

• Two-year associate degree or higher in applied science or equivalent military training.
• Three years hospital experience with at least one year in medical information systems and networking.
• Knowledge of computer virus protection software and information security tools.
• Experience with TCP/IP, HL7, networking, and DICOM standards.
• Experience maintaining networked medical equipment including VLAN config, IP addressing, and security.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on networked medical equipment to ensure functionality and longevity.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions in medical devices per specifications.
• Conduct incoming inspections of new equipment for safety and functionality.
• Collaborate with IT/cybersecurity to maintain medical device security.
• Install, calibrate, and configure equipment per manufacturer instructions.
• Address hazard recalls and coordinate resolutions with manufacturers.
• Perform software repairs and updates for compatibility with systems.
• Maintain CMMS records of maintenance activities.
• Train medical staff on proper equipment use.
• Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices.
