Job summary

Aretum is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician – Info/Sys to join our healthcare facility, focusing on networked medical equipment reliability, cybersecurity, and Cerner integration. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, installations, and staff training to ensure safe, effective patient care.

Responsibilities include collaborating with IT, maintaining records in CMMS, and supporting regulatory compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Two-year associate degree or higher in an applied science or equivalent military training.
• Minimum three years hospital/healthcare experience with at least one year in medical information systems and networking.
• Knowledge of computer virus protection software, patches, upgrades, and information security tools.
• Experience maintaining server-based medical equipment, medical records databases, and HL7/DICOM standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on networked medical equipment to ensure reliability.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions following manufacturer guidelines.
• Carry out incoming inspections for safety, functionality, and accuracy.
• Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity to secure medical devices and protect patient data.
• Install, calibrate, and configure equipment per manufacturer instructions.
• Address hazard recalls and coordinate with manufacturers and departments for resolution.
• Perform software repairs and updates to improve function and compatibility.
• Maintain CMMS records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
• Provide training to medical staff on proper operation of networked equipment.
• Stay updated on industry regulations and biomedical technology trends.
• Travel 10-15% to client sites.
