Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair non-imaging diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices under supervision. You will install, calibrate, and test new medical electronic devices and systems, escalating issues beyond your scope to the appropriate staff.

This role requires a High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and at least six months of repair experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Six months experience in electronic, mechanical, or electro-mechanical repair.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
• Must be able to travel to various sites.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair non-imaging diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices.
• Install, calibrate, and test new medical electronic devices and systems.
• Escalate questions beyond scope to appropriate staff.
• Provide operational and technical advice to medical staff.
• Mentor Biomedical students (interns).
• Document inspections, repairs, adjustments, etc., and coordinate with vendors.
• Participate in educational programs to maintain technical aptitude.
