Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to troubleshoot, maintain and repair non-imaging diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices. The role involves installing, calibrating, and testing new devices, with escalation for complex issues and mentorship to students.

The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 07:00 to 15:30, based in the Charlotte Administration department in Shelby/Charlotte area.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six months repair experience in electronic, mechanical, or electro-mechanical environments.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair non-imaging diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices using standard electronic test equipment.
• Assist with installing, calibrating, and testing new medical electronic devices and systems.
• Escalate complex issues to appropriate staff or vendor resources.
• Provide guidance to medical staff on equipment usage and maintenance.
• Mentor Biomedical students (interns) when needed.
