Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair non-imaging diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices. The role involves calibration, installation, and testing of new equipment, with escalation for complex issues and mentoring ofBiomedical students.

You will coordinate parts and service orders, document all work, and liaise with vendors and clinical staff to ensure equipment readiness and uptime across multiple sites in the region.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six months experience in electronic, mechanical, or electro‑mechanical repair.
• Basic proficiency with Word and Excel.
• Valid driver’s license required and travel to multiple sites expected.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair non-imaging medical devices using standard test equipment.
• Install, calibrate and test new medical electronic devices; escalate beyond scope as needed.
• Provide technical advice to medical staff and mentor Biomedical students.
• Order repair services and parts according to procedures and contracts.
• Document inspections, repairs and maintain records; communicate with vendors.
