Job summary

AAMI seeks a Biomedical Equipment Technician to manage the lifecycle of medical equipment and clinical systems in a hospital setting. You will troubleshoot, perform maintenance, and document all actions in CMMS, ensuring safety and reliability.

You will respond to recalls, monitor system health, and support staff with timely solutions while coordinating projects related to clinical equipment and IT-enabled devices.

Qualifications

• Must have a biomedical tech/engineering education or equivalent
• Experience with testing and maintaining medical equipment
• Ability to document services in CMMS and communicate findings
• Knowledge of basic networking and cybersecurity basics
• Willingness to meet VA/HTM certification requirements as needed

Responsibilities

• Manages lifecycle of medical equipment and clinical systems.
• Troubleshoots equipment using technical data and fixes issues.
• Performs incoming inspections and planned maintenance.
• Documents all work in CMMS and related systems.
• Responds to hazard alerts, recalls, incidents and documents actions.
• Monitors backups, network connectivity, and cybersecurity for systems.
• Uses manufacturer instructions for test equipment.
• Manages projects involving medical equipment and clinical systems.
• Provides staff support, assesses issues, and communicates status.
