Job summary

Adventist HealthCare’s White Oak Medical Center in Maryland is seeking a Biomedical Engineering Technician to support the hospital's mission of extending care through healing. You will perform inspections, maintenance, repairs, calibration, and data reporting for general biomedical equipment.

We value independent work, strong customer service, and clear technical communication. The role requires an AS in Electronics or equivalent, 2 years of biomedical experience, and MS Windows proficiency;

Qualifications

  • A.S. in Electronics, Mechanical Principles or equivalent formal training.
  • Ability to independently perform repairs and scheduled maintenance on clinical equipment.
  • 2 years experience as Biomedical Technician; hospital experience preferred.
  • Strong technical communications skills.
  • Ability to work independently and also in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Proficient in MS Windows environment (e-mail, work order processing, procurement).

Responsibilities

  • Perform PA inspections, scheduled maintenance, electrical safety inspections (ESI), and operation verification procedures (OVP) on general biomedical equipment.
  • Repair, install, and calibrate general biomedical equipment.
  • Inform supervisors of the status of repairs, scheduled inspections, unusual equipment situations, and any customer concerns.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all patient and physician related data contained in the reporting process.
  • Work with, direct, and document the activities of subcontractors, vendors, and outside service technicians to ensure proper service delivery.
  • Maintain biomedical expertise through ongoing training and education.
  • Participate in data submission to the ACC and STS.
  • Assist with Service Operations Special Projects as assigned.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the equipment database to include the inventory, performance assurance (PA) schedules, nomenclature, and service history.
  • Adhere to the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP), including all regulatory agency compliances and other applicable policies and procedures.
  • Perform Incoming Inspections (II) to maintain a complete and accurate inventory of medical devices, including trial and evaluation, rental, and loaner equipment in addition to permanently assigned equipment inventory.
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the equipment database to include inventory, performance assurance (PA) schedules, nomenclature, and service history.
  • Make recommendations regarding inventory.

Work Schedule:
  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Hours per Week: 40 hrs/week
  • Typical Daily Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 am-4:00 pm
  • Shift Type: Day Shift
  • Weekend Requirements: Required working approximately one weekend per month.
  • Holiday Requirements: Required/On-call/Follow company holiday calendar
  • Shift Differential Eligible: Yes
Pay Range:

$25.63 - $35.89 If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.
