Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. in Dayton, Ohio is seeking a Fermentation Laboratory Technician to support biomanufacturing and process development within the Biological & Nano Scale Team. You will operate fermenters, prepare media, and document results under supervision of the Technical Lead.

The role emphasizes aseptic handling, safety, and independent work within established procedures, with occasional travel between AeroVironment facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in life sciences or related field or 4 years hands-on lab/industrial experience.
• Ability to interpret and follow written and verbal procedures and established protocols.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; document laboratory activities clearly.
• Ability to work independently per established processes and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain fermentation systems and related equipment.
• Prepare media and solutions per established protocols with accuracy.
• Run laboratory analyzers and document results accurately.
• Perform aseptic operations with BSL-1 organisms per procedures.
• Document laboratory activities, conditions, observations, and results.
• Work with limited supervision to execute assigned tasks.
