Job summary

Great Hearts Arlington Upper School in Arlington, TX is seeking a High School Biology Teacher who will deliver the Great Hearts curriculum, design thoughtful lessons, and foster a classroom that pursues truth, goodness, and beauty. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree or higher; certification is not required for general education; all majors are welcome.

US work authorization is required; employment is contingent upon successful background check and fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.
• Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.
• Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.
• Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.

Position Title: High School Biology Teacher

Location: Great Hearts Arlington Upper School (6701 S. Cooper Street, Arlington, TX 76001)

Reports To: Headmaster

FLSA Status: Salaried-Exempt

Science at Great Hearts:
