Job summary
Harvard University’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences seeks a Lab Curriculum Coordinator I to support undergraduate biology labs in molecular biology, microscopy, cell biology, and related disciplines. You will collaborate with instructors and the lab manager to prepare materials, maintain equipment, and ensure safe, effective lab sessions.
The role requires hands-on lab work across multiple courses, attention to safety, and the ability to troubleshoot protocols under supervision.
Qualifications
- Minimum one year of lab experience; relevant coursework may count towards experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Biology or related field strongly preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication, independence, and troubleshooting skills.
Responsibilities
- Prepare reagents, media, and cultures according to approved protocols.
- Operate lab equipment including glassware washer and autoclave as needed.
- Transport lab equipment and materials between classrooms and buildings.
- Order general and course-specific lab supplies as required.
- Perform regular lab maintenance and cleaning; document protocols.
- Serve as lab safety officer and attend safety meetings; supervise teaching staff.
