University of Texas at Austin seeks an Instructional Lab Manager for a high-enrollment introductory biology lab (BIO 206L). You will oversee daily lab operations, prep materials, manage inventory, and supervise teaching assistants, ensuring safe handling of biohazards and waste.

You will assist in designing and testing lab activities to improve student learning outcomes. The role requires a biology-related degree, 2+ years of lab experience, aseptic and basic molecular techniques, and equipment

Formación

• Minimum 2 years of laboratory work experience; undergrad research acceptable.
• Experience preparing solutions, media, and bacterial cultures.
• Experience with aseptic technique and introductory molecular techniques such as PCR.
• Experience procuring and maintaining lab equipment and materials.
• Experience and knowledge of lab safety protocols and chemical/biological waste disposal.
• Experience supervising and training others in a work setting.

Responsabilidades

• Researches, procures, and maintains laboratory supplies and equipment.
• Sets up, takes down, and organizes equipment and materials for course laboratories.
• Assists in developing new laboratory exercises and testing protocols.
• Trains and supervises student lab assistants and support personnel in safe use of facilities.
