Job summary

South Piedmont Community College in Monroe, NC, invites applications for a Biology Lab Assistant (Federal Work Study) position. The student will assist biology faculty with lab prep and cleanup, wash glassware, prepare materials, stock labs, and help set up microscopes and dissection stations.

Under the supervision of the Biology instructor, you will maintain prep areas, support labs during sessions, follow safety protocols, and help with inventory and outreach activities.

Job Description

This position is located at the Old Charlotte Highway Campus in Monroe, working under the direction of the Biology instructor.

• Assisting biology faculty with lab preparation and cleanup
• Washing and organizing glassware and lab equipment
• Preparing basic lab materials and supplies
• Stocking/distributing consumables for labs
• Assisting with microbiology media prep and sterilization procedures under supervision
• Maintaining organization of prep rooms and storage areas
