Job summary

Salt Lake Community College's Biology Department is seeking a part-time student employee to provide front-office support, greet visitors, answer emails and phones, and keep the office organized while handling confidential information under FERPA. • Familiarity with general office procedures and etiquette.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions accurately.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and department information.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors in a professional manner.
• Answer emails and phone inquiries as directed; route others to staff.
• Maintain a clean, organized department office and supplies.
• Assist with meetings, outreach events, and department communications.
• Support preparation for events and printing/supply requests.
• Scan, file, and organize documents with attention to confidentiality.
• Handle FERPA-related information and maintain discretion at all times.
