Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Research Technician for our CAP-accredited, BSL2+ biorepository in Durham, NC. The role focuses on standardized biospecimen processing, biobanking, and high-quality sample handling for translational and clinical research projects.

Responsibilities include processing, storage, shipping, PBMC isolation, and data entry via REDCap and LIMS, with strict adherence to SOPs and regulatory standards. On-call duties apply.

Qualifications

• Experience handling human biospecimens in a clinical or research setting.
• Knowledge of biosafety and infection control practices.
• Ability to follow SOPs and IRB requirements meticulously.
• Experience with data capture and sample tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Receive, process, store, and ship human biospecimens per SOPs.
• Follow IRB, SOP, and chain-of-custody requirements.
• Perform aliquoting, freezing, labeling, and sterile processing.
• Operate centrifuges and liquid nitrogen freezers and maintain equipment.
• Isolate PBMCs, cryopreserve, and thaw samples as needed.
• Enter data in REDCap and LIMS accurately and timely.
• Monitor storage conditions and respond to freezer alerts.
• Ship specimens to study sites with proper documentation.
