Job summary

Azenta Life Sciences is seeking a 2nd Shift Biobank Technician I (Mon-Fri, 3:30 pm–12:00 am) to support material handling with strict temperature control and chain-of-custody. You will register, label, retrieve, and discard irreplaceable samples, ensuring accuracy and compliance with SOPs and GMP standards.

Responsibilities include barcode scanning, quality checks, labeling, storage, and packaging for lab services, with a focus on detail and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years’ experience demonstrating teamwork, self-motivation, detail orientation, and professionalism.
• Life Sciences experience preferred.
• GMP/GTP/CLIA Experience, preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to read/understand/interpret basic English correspondence and procedures.
• Ability to make decisions and judgments based on reasoning.
• Careful, thorough work with accuracy and completeness.
• Strong attention to detail for repetitive tasks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for basic/intermediate functions.

Responsibilities

• Register, label, retrieve, and discard biological materials while maintaining temperatures.
• Follow SOPs and regulatory standards (GMP, GTP, GLP, GDP, ISO).
• Use inventory system; maintain chain of custody and audit trails.
• Register samples, scan barcodes, and verify information against manifests.
• Store materials at required temperatures; package materials for lab services.
• Perform discard quality checks and document issues.
• Generate location management reports; assist with facility upkeep.
