Job summary

Moderna seeks a co‑op in Biobank Operations in Norwood, MA, for Jan 18, 2027 – Jun 25, 2027. You will gain hands‑on experience with biospecimen lifecycle management, lab automation, and digital systems in a regulated biotech setting.

Work includes supporting receipt, storage, and distribution of biospecimens, using LIMS for tracking, and ensuring proper chain of custody. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for contributing to efficient storage and sample integrity.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in biology, biomedical sciences, biochemistry, chemistry, molecular biology, or a related field.
• Coursework or laboratory experience in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, molecular biology, or a related discipline.
• Basic laboratory skills such as pipetting and sample handling.

Responsibilities

• Support biospecimen receipt, documentation, storage, retrieval, and distribution in accordance with SOPs and safety requirements.
• Utilize LabVantage LIMS to support sample tracking, chain of custody, and lifecycle traceability.
• Support automation and robotics workflows used for sample reformatting, storage, and retrieval.
• Handle biospecimens across required temperature conditions while following SOPs, safety requirements, and chain-of-custody practices.
• Support study close-out, sample reconciliation, and storage optimization activities.
• Identify and elevate sample, labeling, inventory, or documentation discrepancies to Biobank team members.
• Prepare and deliver project updates or presentations to Biobank and cross-functional teams.
