Job summary

Celerion in Lincoln, Nebraska seeks an Associate Scientist / Scientist to join the Bioanalytical Method Development team. You will develop rugged LCMS methods for bioanalytical analysis and mentor junior staff.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Biochemistry, Chemistry or Biology and 3–5+ years in industry, with GLP experience preferred. This full-time position offers collaboration in a fast-paced environment and opportunities to support translational research.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry or Biology with 3-5+ years of related industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of organic chemistry is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills are required.
• Prior experience working in a regulated GLP-compliant environment is preferred.
• Experience developing LCMS assays in biological samples required; experience developing large molecule assays by LCMS is preferred.
• The ability to design experiments with multiple variables, including appropriate positive/negative controls.
• Knowledge of Laboratory Automation, Chromatographic/MS-MS Software (e.g., Analyst) and LIMS systems (e.g. Watson) preferred.
• Experience with capillary electrophoresis, supercritical fluid chromatography (convergent chromatography), or GC-MS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Developing and qualifying highly sensitive, reliable LCMS methods for analysis of compounds in biological matrices.
• Consult with clients on method development and validation needs and establish appropriate bioanalytical assays.
• Work on projects of diverse scope that require non-routine analysis and evaluation of scientific data.
• Work independently and on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Interact with validation and production teams to transfer methods and reagents post-development.
• Troubleshoot assays as needed.
• Apply design of experiments (DOE) and other systematic approaches to method development.
• Collaborate with team and communicate professionally.
• Mentor and provide scientific expertise to the method development team.
