RR Donnelley & Sons in Dallas, TX is seeking a Bindery Operator to set up, adjust and operate a wide range of binding and finishing equipment to produce books, catalogs and other printed materials.

You will inspect equipment for safety, coordinate multiple work stations, direct a crew, monitor quality and productivity, and ensure close adherence to process specs. This role offers overtime opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret work orders and maintain dimensional accuracy.
• Must be able to calculate distances, clearances, and fits.
• Skill in using standard and specialized tools to adjust bindery machines.
• General knowledge of complex bindery machines and finishes.
• Knowledge of setup and operation of folding, collating and cutting.
• Knowledge of paper stock types and finishes.
• Skill in adjusting machines to prevent impressions on printed materials.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate a variety of binding and finishing equipment.
• Inspect equipment for safety and monitor quality, output and productivity.
• Direct crew through all aspects of production.
• Coordinate multiple work stations on a single machine.
• Ensure adherence to specifications and process standards.
• Maintain and refine machine settings for material weight and finish.
• Monitor and improve efficiency of the binding process.
