Job summary

RR Donnelley & Sons in Kent, WA is seeking a skilled Bindery Operator to operate folder gluers and multiple binding machines. You will set up and adjust equipment, inspect safety, monitor quality, and supervise crew to ensure efficient production of finished books and catalogs.

The role requires a solid understanding of finishing processes, a eye for quality, and the ability to coordinate several stations on one system. Shift is 2PM–10PM with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret work orders or job specs to determine machine operations.
• Calculate distances, clearances, and fits for equipment setups.
• Use range of bindery tools to adjust and maintain machines.
• Understand complex bindery systems and finishing folds.
• Know paper stock quality requirements and handling constraints.
• Set up and adjust machines for weight, color, and surface quality.

Responsibilities

• Operate Folder Gluer machines.
• Set up auxiliary binding machines with multiple heads and attachments.
• Set up automatic bindery lines to process printed sheets into final products.
• Inspect equipment for safety issues.
• Operate perfect binders with multiple process stations as needed.
• Direct crew through all production steps.
• Monitor quality, output and productivity.
• Coordinate multiple work stations on a single machine.
