Job summary

RR Donnelley & Sons is seeking an experienced Bindery Operator in Tennessee to set up and run a range of binding and finishing equipment, ensuring quality and on-time production. You will guide a crew, adjust multiple stations, and monitor output while mentoring less experienced staff.

The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and adherence to company procedures, with opportunities to contribute to process improvements and training initiatives.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret work orders or job specs for bindery requirements
• Ability to calculate distances, clearances and fits in combining machines
• Skill in using standard and specialized tools to adjust and maintain bindery machines
• Knowledge of complex bindery machinery and folding/collating operations
• Understanding set up, operating requirements and limitations of bindery equipment
• Knowledge of paper stock types and their machining requirements

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate various binding machines and related devices
• Operate automatic bindery machines to produce finished books, catalogs or magazines
• Inspect equipment for safety issues
• Direct crew and coordinate multiple stations on machines
• Monitor quality, output and productivity
• Train and mentor new and existing employees to improve performance and adherence to policies
