Job summary

RRD in Tennessee is hiring for a Bindery Operator to set up and run diverse binding and finishing equipment. You will manage multiple stations, monitor quality and output, and guide the team to meet production goals.

The role requires hands-on operational skill, familiarity with paper types, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced printing environment. Overtime and full-time shifts may apply.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with paper weights, sizes, kinds and colors.
• Familiarity with basic mathematics (decimals, metric units).
• Ability to use standard and specialized tools to adjust bindery equipment.
• Skill with hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, punches, knives) and manufacturer tools.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders and maintain dimensional accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate bindery machines with multiple attachments.
• Set up automatic bindery machines with multi-function capabilities.
• Inspect equipment for safety issues.
• Operate adhesive binding machines (perfect binders) as needed.
• Coordinate and adjust multiple work stations on a single machine.
• Direct crew through all production aspects.
• Monitor quality, output and productivity.
• Handle required manual exertion up to 50 lbs.
• Mentor new and existing employees and reinforce policies.
