Job summary

Rockford Construction Co. in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Visual Design Construction Coordinator to lead the VDC coordination process and support project teams in implementing BIM and VDC methodologies.

You will collaborate with the MEP & VDC Manager and design teams, develop 3D models in Revit as needed, run clash detection, and conduct BIM coordination meetings to keep projects on schedule and budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Architectural, Engineering, Construction Management, or Computer Science.
• Minimum of one year construction technology experience.
• Understanding of basic construction processes, procedures, and technologies.
• Familiarity with VDC/BIM software and cloud platforms.
• Ability to read drawings, specs and submittals; strong MS Office skills.
• Experience with BIM coordination and contract/doc development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Foster an environment of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Support in-house pre-construction, design and project management teams with day-to-day duties and training.
• Assist in developing/maintaining BIM contracts and documents.
• Explore VDC applications (4D, 5D, etc.).
• Manage and analyze models to identify coordination and constructability issues.
• Develop 3D models in Revit for coordination as needed.
• Lead BIM coordination meetings with construction, design teams and trade contractors.
• Manage coordination, clash detection, visual walkthroughs and signoffs.
• Field check QA/QC and provide site reports.
• Conduct BIM close-out, including final as-builts.
