Job summary

Actalent is seeking a BIM Specialist in Raleigh, NC to support design and construction of mechanical systems across industrial piping, HVAC, plumbing, and high-purity installations. The role focuses on implementing BIM processes to produce constructible designs with safety, quality, and integrity in mind, with opportunities to grow in the Raleigh market.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in mechanical eng or related field.
2–5 years BIM experience in mechanical contracting or industrial piping.
Proficiency in Revit MEP and Navisworks for clash detection.
Experience with AutoCAD and Plant 3D for fabrication and documentation.
Ability to coordinate with engineers and field teams.
Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and manage detailed BIM models for mechanical systems across projects.
Coordinate closely with engineers, project managers, and field teams to ensure integration of piping, HVAC, plumbing, and utilities within BIM.
Perform clash detection and resolve conflicts using Revit and Navisworks to ensure constructible designs.
Generate construction documents and shop drawings directly from BIM models.
Maintain and improve BIM standards, templates, and workflows.
Provide 3D visualization and technical input during planning and construction phases.
Train, mentor, and support team members in BIM tools, workflows, and best practices.
Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure BIM deliverables meet requirements, schedules, and quality.
Organize and manage BIM files within Autodesk Construction Cloud and other platforms.
Assist in refining mechanical building systems modeling processes including process piping and high-purity systems.
Support integration of fabrication parts within Revit (CADMEP).
Participate in design review meetings and coordination sessions.
Help manage multiple BIM tasks across concurrent projects.
