Job description

The BIM Modeler III is responsible for providing modeling efforts for both project delivery and standards. This role serves as the leader of the production team and typically the Model Manager, overseeing all functions of a BIM project including drawings, model quality, and coordination files. The successful candidate will efficiently supervise modeling and documentation, manage their own production, and provide task‑based training to other staff.

What You'll Do
  • Capable of successfully performing all tasks of a BIM Modeler II
  • Work with the Family Development Team for revised standards or project needs
  • Lead and supervise the modeling and documentation of projects
  • Provide effective verbal and written direction to support staff
  • Manage all aspects of assigned projects—including models, resource needs, progress, and potential impacts on scope, schedule, and budget
  • Create and maintain Electrical Revit models using backgrounds from other trades while following all REI standards
  • Collaborate with a diverse team across multiple departments and disciplines
  • Supervise the layout and input of marked‑up drawings into Revit in accordance with REI standards
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and comply with non‑disclosure requirements
  • Perform duties as assigned, understanding that this description is not exhaustive
What You Bring To Us
  • Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Computerized Drafting, Architectural Design, or related discipline with a minimum of 1 year in Revit
  • Minimum 5 years of total experience with knowledge of electrical symbols, drafting conventions, and standards
  • Combination of education, training, and relevant experience
What You'll Need To Be Successful
  • Effective performance management skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Revit, including families, views, browser structure, sheets, schedules, and filters
  • Strong verbal and written direction skills, translating direction into constructible design documents
  • Complete understanding of REI BIM processes, procedures, and standards
  • Fluency in reading 2D plans and related schedules
  • Accurate typing, proofreading, and spell‑checking without supervision
  • Understanding of Revit work‑sharing processes and methods
  • Ability to set up Revit models, lead model teams, annotate, schedule, assign workload, and meet deadlines
  • Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Prioritization and multitasking ability, adjusting to changing priorities
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Self‑motivation, proactivity, and effective teamwork
  • Professional interaction with employees, vendors, clients, and others at all levels
Working Conditions
  • Typical environment includes sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, and occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Work primarily indoors with standard lighting and air conditioning, but noise levels can vary on a job site
