Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Detail Lead to support construction projects through coordinating shop drawings, BIM modeling, and MEP systems.

You will lead the detailing team on smaller projects, partner with the design and modeling group to infuse constructability, and drive timely model development.

Key duties include trade coordination with the General Contractor, resource management, alignment with the design pull schedule, and budget accountability.

Qualifications

• Requires high school or GED with 6 years detailing experience or equivalent field experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in engineering, construction or related field.
• Field Foreman/General Foreman experience preferred.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret basic construction documents.
• Knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Piping, Sheet Metal trades and field installation.
• Familiar with Navisworks, Revit and AutoCAD for BIM/CAD tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead detailing team on smaller projects and direct constructability.
• Collaborate with design and modeling groups to minimize model rework.
• Lead project team communication to address concerns and resolve issues.
• Provide material, content and feedback to team members as needed.
• Lead final trade coordination and sign-off with the General Contractor.
• Contribute to design pull schedule to align model development with deliverables.
• Manage resources assigned to the project.
• Participate in conceptual design for modular construction and constructability standards.
• Support budget and cost accountability.
