Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a skilled detailing professional to support construction projects through shop drawings, BIM modeling, and MEP coordination. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate model development and timely deliverables.

The role emphasizes constructability, communication, and sign-off coordination with the General Contractor, along with contributing to cost-aware project execution.

Qualifications

• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret basic construction documents.
• Knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Piping, Sheet Metal trades and field installation methods.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads detailing team and constructability on smaller or less complex projects.
• Partners with design/modeling group to minimize model rework.
• Leads communication between project team members to ensure a successful product.
• Provides material, content and feedback to team members as needed.
• Leads final trade coordination and sign-off with the General Contractor.
• Contributes to design pull schedule to direct model development to meet deliverables.
• Manages resources assigned to the project.
• Participates in conceptual design to promote modular construction and constructability standards.
• Supports budget and has cost accountability.
