Westchester Medical Center Health Network is seeking a Billing Supervisor to lead the billing staff and oversee the revenue cycle across our network.

The role focuses on charge capture, ensuring accurate professional charges, staff training, performance coaching, and collaboration with other departments to optimize billing processes while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of billing experience in a healthcare setting.
• Cerner experience is a plus.
• High School diploma required; Associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the revenue cycle and act as the go-to person for all billing processes.
• Monitor and delegate workload to billing staff and ensure accurate billing.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports on charge capture and billing activity.
• Provide effective supervision, training, and problem resolution to billing staff.
• Evaluate performance and motivate staff to peak productivity.

• Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and HIPAA regulations.

Job Summary

The Billing Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership and supervision to the billing staff. They will be responsible to ensure optimal revenue cycle flow. The Billing Supervisor’s primary focus will be the oversight of charge capture process, and ensuring charges are captured for all professional billing activities across the network.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for managing the revenue cycle, and acts as the expert and go-to person in the department for all processes relating to billing and collections
• Monitors and delegates the workload of the billing staff and ensures accurate billing
• Reports to the Manager and as needed prepares weekly and monthly reports, related charge capture and other billing activity.
• Provides effective supervision, including training, work allocation, and problem resolution to billing office staff
• Works with the Manager on evaluating the performance of employees and makes recommendations for appropriate actions to be taken, as well as motivates staff to achieve peak performance and productivity
• Works with Management to ensure quality and appropriate training is provided to newly hired and existing billing staff
• Helps to ensure staff are adhering to established company operating policies, procedures and systems, protocols, and standards
• Carry out analysis of trends affecting charges and assign manageable tasks to billing staff
• Collaborate with other departments to get and analyze additional information about patients to be able to record and process charges effectively
• Remain updated on HIPAA and all other health information management issues and regulations
• Reports concerns and issues in the department to the Mnager for prompt necessary action
• Other tasks as assigned

Qalifications/Requirements

Experience: 3-5 years of billing experience in a healthcare setting, health system, or large medical practice setting, required. Cerner experience is a plus.

Education: High School diploma, required. Associate degree, preferred.
