Responsibilities

• Data entry of claims into our Revenue Cycle Management platform
• Review historical claims for potential issues
• Perform insurance benefit verifications to determine eligibility and costs
• Submit prior authorization requests to insurance carriers
• Track and obtain necessary authorizations
• Understand payer contracts and billing requirements
• Review contract terms to ensure billing accuracy
• Navigate practice software efficiently
• Assess and follow-up on patient balances
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Experience with AthenNet is required
• Minimum of 2 years in medical billing
• Knowledge of medical terminology and billing processes
• Familiarity with medical policies and payer contracts is preferred
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to multitask
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
