Job summary

CFS in Chicago seeks a Billing Specialist to manage timely and accurate client billing for our legal team. You will process invoices, answer billing questions, and support a paperless billing workflow in Elite 3E.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in legal billing, strong attention to detail, and proficiency with MS Excel and e-billing systems, ensuring confidentiality and professional communication at all times.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
• Advanced knowledge of fees and cost billing principles in a computerized environment.
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel.
• 2+ years experience in legal billing.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Must respect confidentiality of client and firm records.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Timely and accurate processing of client billing.
• Maintains high level of service to internal and external clients while answering billing questions.
• Distributes billing proformas through our paperless system and ensures that all proformas are submitted to the Billing Department.
• Processes invoices using e-billing systems, while maintaining e-billing database.
• Audits e-billing systems to match Elite 3E system.
• Manages billing book on client special requests, billing guidelines, attorneys’ requests, etc.
• Provides instruction on billing procedures.
