Job summary

Elation Health seeks a Support Subject Matter Expert in Elation Billing to join our frontline team. This role embeds in the support queue to apply practitioner-level RCM judgment to billing cases that go beyond scripted troubleshooting, helping to discern product bugs, payer quirks, or workflow mismatches.

You’ll diagnose billing contexts, escalate to product when needed, and contribute to knowledge bases and SOPs to lift team performance and accuracy across cases.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on medical billing / revenue cycle management experience.
• Fluency in CPT/ICD-10 coding logic and payer-specific rules.
• Experience in an EHR, practice management, or medical billing platform.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to guide practices and internal teams.
• Frontline live-case handling; not a periodic consultant.
• Self-directed, detail-oriented with judgment to escalate when needed.

Responsibilities

• Own complex billing and revenue cycle cases requiring practitioner-level judgment.
• Embed as RCM expert for Elation Billing, handling tricky cases beyond scripted troubleshooting.
• Diagnose billing context (payment model, staffing, workflows) to distinguish product vs configuration issues.
• Collaborate with Product to address recurring edge cases and inform the roadmap.
• Contribute to billing knowledge base, SOPs and macros; refine AI Case Assistant suggestions.
• Help raise the team’s baseline RCM literacy among Specialists.
• Track case quality and surface systemic patterns rather than one-off fixes.
