The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Community Physicians is seeking an employee to handle account maintenance and research billing tasks. You will update registrations, process corrections, and denials, and inform management of payer issues.

You will post payments, resolve payment problems, and respond to calls related to research billing, while documenting actions and staying current with payer requirements. EMR and billing systems are used daily.

Formación

• High School Degree or Equivalent required.
• 1 year of related work experience required.

Responsabilidades

• Account maintenance: update registrations, process charge corrections, debit/credit memos, and denials per policies.
• Post payments for research services and resolve payment issues by gathering information and communicating with payers.
• Respond to incoming calls related to research billing and document actions taken on accounts.
• Review accounts on hold with charges for research services; add appropriate research-related diagnosis/modifiers.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payer requirements and communicate changes or trends to management.
• Maintain productivity and meet 80% quality standards set by the department.
• Achieve and maintain minimum departmental production goals after quality review.
• Other related duties as assigned.
• Use electronic medical record and billing systems.
