Job summary

Rocket Lawyer is seeking a seasoned Payment Operations leader to own billing, payment processing, and risk management across the US and select international markets. You will drive the roadmap with product, engineering, and finance, optimize customer experiences, and manage vendor relationships while leading a small team to excellence.

The role requires 8–10 years in payments, Stripe expertise, and a track record of delivering high-impact improvements in a SaaS environment.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years in payments at a SaaS or subscription business.
• Expert-level understanding of card processing and risk management.
• Experience with Stripe is essential.
• Proven track record building and leading high-performing teams.
• Strong cross-functional partnership with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the billing, payment processing and risk roadmap.
• Partner with product, operations, engineering, and finance to define roles and responsibilities.
• Identify improvements to billing platforms and payment processing for better customer experience.
• Analyze KPIs and take action to maintain healthy payment operations.
• Lead vendor relationships and optimize costs while ensuring ROI.
• Coach the payment operations team and drive continuous improvement.
• Mitigate compliance, security, fraud and operational risks related to payments.
• Own chargeback prevention and response with a world-class approach.
• Deliver regular data insights informing payment strategy and country-specific decisions.
• Represent billing domain in cross-functional discussions and decisions.
