Job summary

Rocket Money is seeking an experienced engineer to own the Premium and billing experience, including Stripe, Apple IAP, and Google IAP integrations. You’ll design, implement, and deploy end-to-end features with strong emphasis on reliability and observability.

You’ll collaborate with product, data, and operations teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-quality systems while mentoring peers and shaping the technical roadmap.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with backend and frontend tech.
• Experience with payment platforms (Stripe, Apple/Google IAP) and billing systems.
• Strong knowledge of Node.js/TypeScript and React, plus relational databases like Postgres.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship Premium management features across Stripe, in-app purchases (Apple IAP / Google IAP), credit card payment flows, and post-purchase lifecycle management.
• Own projects end-to-end: problem definition, technical design, implementation, rollout, and ongoing reliability.
• Partner with product, data, and operations to create safe, scalable, and pleasant-to-use systems.
• Improve reliability and observability across critical workflows by instrumenting services and debugging production issues.
• Write design docs and RFCs, participate in code reviews, and promote best practices.
