Job summary

Rocket Money is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own the Premium management features, integrating Stripe, Apple IAP, and Google IAP, and post-purchase lifecycle management.

You will design, implement, and roll out projects, partnering with product, data, and operations to build safe, scalable systems that handle millions in revenue with a focus on reliability and observability. The role demands autonomy, data-driven decision making, and use of AI tools where appropriate.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience with Node.js/TypeScript, React, Postgres, and asynchronous queuing systems like SQS.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship Premium management features across Stripe, in-app purchases (Apple IAP / Google IAP), credit card payment flows, and post-purchase lifecycle management.
• Own projects end-to-end: problem definition, technical design, implementation, rollout, and ongoing reliability.
• Partner with product, data, and operations to create safe, scalable, and pleasant to use systems.
• Improve reliability and observability across critical workflows by instrumenting services and debugging production issues.
• Write design docs, RFCs, participate in code reviews, and contribute to a culture of feedback and improvement.
• Drive technical direction: architectures, tradeoffs, and roadmap influence.
• Mentor and unblock others: coach mid-level engineers and share best practices.
