Job summary

Rocket Lawyer is seeking a senior leader to own Billing and Payment Operations, overseeing global payment processing, risk management, and internal tooling. You will partner with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Risk to optimize the customer experience and maximize transaction success while mitigating refunds and chargebacks.

The role requires 8-10 years in payments, Stripe expertise, and a proven track record of building high-impact teams.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years in payments within a SaaS or subscription-based business or equivalent.
• Expert-level understanding of credit/debit card processing and payments ecosystem; alternate methods are a plus.
• Demonstrated track record building and leading high-performing teams with strong morale.
• Proven ability to partner with product, engineering, finance, risk, and external vendors.
• Effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders at all levels; strong project leadership.
• Knowledge of regional (US, UK, EU, BR) payment systems and compliance considerations.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to strategy and roadmap for billing, payment processing, and risk management.
• Lead operational excellence to ensure payment health, incident remediation, and optimized customer experience.
• Own risk management and chargeback prevention across the enterprise; monitor fraud and compliance risks.
• Define, analyze and translate data into actionable payment strategy and reports across countries.
• Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, monitor KPIs, and optimize costs.
• Lead and develop the Payments Operations team, coaching and performance management.
