Job summary

Paychex Inc. is seeking a Billing Supervisor to oversee the MSO billing operations, ensure accurate charge entry and maintain compliant processes. This role requires hands-on leadership of staff handling claims, coding, and patient insurance activities.

The position focuses on process improvement, training, and ensuring timely payment posting and A/R follow-up while maintaining HIPAA compliance and collaboration with CPMP MSO. Hybrid work arrangement offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in medical billing and collections.
• Strong understanding of medical coding (CPT, ICD-10) and billing fertility procedures.
• Strong understanding of medical insurance terminology and procedures.
• Knowledge of insurance regulations and reimbursement methodologies.
• Effective communication and listening skills.
• Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records and other software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to display compassion towards patients and coworkers.
• Strong problem resolution skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the operations of the billing department, charge entry, and edits.
• Serves as the practice expert and go-to person for all MSO processes.
• Plans and directs patient insurance documentation, billing and collections, and data processing to ensure accurate billing and efficient account collection.
• Analyze and audit billing and claims for accuracy and completeness.
• Work with CPMP on claim submission, payment posting, A/R follow up and reimbursement management.
• Liaison for CPMP MSO.
• Handle all pre go-live and post go-live operations with office staff, including training set-up, Cerner and SPM set up, superbills, logins, and IDX set up.
• Audits current procedures to monitor and improve efficiency of data entry, billing and front end operations.
• Ensures activities are compliant with Federal, State, and payer regulations.
• Participates in developing and implementing operating policies and procedures.
• Reviews and interprets operational data to assess need for procedural revisions and enhancements; designs systems to improve revenue and efficiency.
• Analyzes trends impacting charges, coding, collection and accounts receivable and adjusts staff/policies accordingly.
• Keeps up to date with carrier rule changes and disseminates information within the practice.
• Maintains knowledge of HIPAA and health regulations.
• Supervises MSO staff, including training, performance evaluation and actions.
• Coordinates training for billing staff on policies, systems and procedures.
• Coordinates team member time off without disrupting daily functions.
• Performs other misc. duties as assigned.
